Camp Friendship kicks into high gear in late June when our incoming sixth graders (New Friends) participate in a week-long camp designed to introduce them to The Friendship Club, make new friends, develop relationships with our professional staff and volunteers, and begin learning and growing in a positive direction. The Friendship Club hosts another four camps throughout the summer for each cohort. Camps provide more opportunities for teambuilding, experiences outside of our community, and boundary-expanding activities designed to challenge the girls in positive ways, helping them see that they are capable of more than they may realize.
In addition to camps, The Friendship Club hosts 7-10 special interest clinics throughout the summer. Based on interest, these clinics are age mixed and provide important interaction between younger and older girls. This informal age mixing influences the family feeling environment the girls in The Friendship Club often reference. Some examples of clinics that have been provided are: archery, gymnastics, volleyball, horse care and riding, jewelry making, painting, photography, cooking/baking, and sewing.
