"My Angel is the best thing that ever happened to me. She has taught me things that have changed my life dramatically. Thank you to The Friendship Club for giving me my Angel."

Six Easy Ways to Volunteer at The Friendship Club

1. Be a Driver. Bring girls from their school to the Club (20-40 minutes once a week during the school year) or drive girls on field trips or summer activities (20 minutes to 2 hours—the schedule of dates and times is emailed monthly).
2. Be a Friend. Spend time with a girl and share an activity or a passion (3 hours occasionally, times to be arranged).
3. Be an Office Volunteer. Help us with mailings, calls and organization (3 hours per week).
4. Be a Program Volunteer. Assist with program needs including cooking and meeting set-up (3 hours per week).
5. Be a Tutor. Work with one girl or a group of girls during homework time (45 minutes to 1.5 hours weekly during the school year).
6. Help at fundraising events. Assist with set-up, staffing and clean-up (2-6 hours the day of the event).

Long-Term Volunteer Opportunities

Angels: Angels are women in the community who are paired with one of our girls for a long-term mentorship. The Angels support their girls by offering friendship and new experiences, by being role models and listening. We provide training and support and ask that Angels meet with their girls about once a month.

For more information about our Volunteer Jobs, see our Volunteer Brochure and our Angel Brochure. Friendship Club volunteers are carefully screened. Our application procedure includes a criminal background check.
